I was so honored to engrave live at Nordstrom in the Houston Galleria on November 8. Although it was not my first time offering live calligraphy inside Nordstrom, this was my very first day engraving for Nordstrom herself, meaning anything and everything in the store that could be engraved was fair game. I have waited so long for a day like this!

Prada Compact Mirror Engraving

One of the highlights of the day happened right at the start. A traveler asked for something uplifting that would gently bring her back to herself whenever life felt overwhelming. Together we settled on the phrase “hello gorgeous” for her Prada compact mirror. The phrase was perfect, both visually and emotionally, and it made such a beautiful keepsake for her travels! Yves Saint Laurent Lipstick Tube

Next came the Yves Saint Laurent lipstick tube. This one was a little tricky to engrave and even trickier to photograph because of the curve and reflective surface, but I persevered. The customer called it her new favorite tube, and now their lipsticks are officially on my list to try because she swore they were her softest and most luxurious ones.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Wild Perfume Bottle

My personal favorite of the entire day was a Marc Jacobs Daisy Wild perfume bottle. Since I had a little extra time with this one, I engraved an adorable bouquet of tiny posies across the back and filled the lines with gold inlay. When viewed through the front of the bottle, the flowers looked like they were floating behind the fragrance. Another happy traveler.

A Romantic Wedding Day Surprise

Toward the end of the evening I was asked to stay a few minutes late to finish something extra special. Three beautiful Maison Francis Kurkdjian bottles were brought to me to be engraved for a woman on her actual wedding day. Her new husband wanted to surprise her with her favorite fragrances engraved with their wedding date before they headed out on their honeymoon. It was such a romantic gesture, and I hope she treasures them for a lifetime!
